July 2022 Update

We can hardly believe it, Magic of Paws is 5 today!

Thank you for being with us on this crazy ride. We've had some great times. We've learned a lot and we've met some fantastic pets (and their people). Most importantly, we are looking forward to the next five years.

To celebrate, we'll be having a party on July 9th. Come by to meet the staff, other clients, and maybe even some adoptable pets. We'll have the stuff for s'mores and a few other things but you're welcome to help make this a potluck. More information is available here.

We have been reflecting a lot over the past five years. Most things have worked well for us, but something s could be better, so we are making some minor policy changes to keep the next year running smoothly.

Pet Sitting

1. We are no longer going to share duties with another sitter, there is just too much that can go wrong.
2. Cats and other small animals must have at least one visit per day, dogs three per day (two sitting and one midday).
3. ALL animals in the home must be on the house sitting reservation or at least one visit per day.
4. We are reducing the number of appointment slots per sitter to a maximum of three in the morning (6-9 am) and six in the afternoon/evening (3-9 pm) this will allow us to provide better care (and save on gas).

Dog Walking

1. We are reducing the number of walking slots per walker to a maximum of six per day. This will make sure your dogs never feel rushed.
2. Not new but worth repeating, we prefer your dog to have a well-fitted harness for their security to allow us to use the longest lead we can for their enrichment.

Transportation

1. All dogs we are transporting must be comfortable in a crate. We have new, fancy crash-tested crates to keep them safe.

Boarding/Daycare

1. We now require dogs to try one day of daycare before spending the night here. This is to help them adjust to the environment before an extended stay.
