July is National Ice Cream Month, and our pets love to celebrate with us too! We decided to share some of our favorite frozen treats for our furry and feathered friends.
Ingredients
3-4 ripe bananas
32 ounces plain yogurt
½ cup organic peanut butter
Instructions
Peel bananas and add to blender along with peanut butter and yogurt.
Blend until smooth, then pour into ice trays.
Freeze.
Ingredients
Cat milk or lactose-free milk
Can of pate-style cat food (optional)
Salt (Kosher or Rock salt works best)
Two sandwich bags & 1-gallon freezer bag
Lots of ice!
Instructions
Pour milk into a sandwich bag. Add half a can (more or less, depending on cat preference).
Seal bag tightly and put in the second sandwich bag and seal tight.
Pour salt and ice into the 1-gallon freezer bag. Add the sandwich bags to the freezer bag, seal, and mix for fifteen minutes (if you have an ice cream maker, you can use that instead).
Scoop out the ice cream and serve!
Ingredients
Frozen fruits and veggies
Food scraps
This is a great way to use up all that produce that is looking a little sad, just save it in a bag in your freezer until you're ready to make your wreath
Instructions
Cut up all the fruits and veggies to be an appropriate size for your chickens and dump them into a bundt pan (or any other cake pan) until it is about 2/3 full.
Cover the goodies with water until you are just shy of the edge of the pan and freeze.
When you're ready to serve, unmould the wreath and place it on a plate or tray in the shade for your chickens.
What are your pets' favorite summer treats? We would love to hear them down in the comments!
